For Referring Doctors

Who Are We?

-

+

Vascular Ultrasound Australia is an independently owned and operated diagnostic imaging service. VUA stands as a testament to excellence, founded and meticulously overseen by highly specialised Vascular Sonographers. With exclusive training and specialty qualifications, our team boasts over 20 years of combined experience. Our professional journey spans diverse settings, including collaboration with Vascular Surgeons in private sectors, renowned hospitals such as the Alfred and the Austin public hospitals, and various radiology imaging clinics throughout Victoria.

Why Choose Vascular Ultrasound Australia?

-

+

Vascular Ultrasound Australia is not just a service; it's a commitment to raising public awareness about the ultrasound industry while delivering a specialised, high-standard ultrasound experience. Our close collaboration with Vascular Surgeons across Victoria equips us with a keen understanding of the precise information crucial to your scan. Anticipating the needs of both Vascular Surgeons and treating Doctors, we ensure that the scans we provide are comprehensive and aligned with their requirements. This dedication translates into a seamless process for your patients, eliminating the necessity for re-scans before their specialist consultations.

Our expertise extends beyond conventional roles, encompassing direct involvement in vein procedural sessions (such as sclerotherapy, RFA and EVLT) and consulting sessions alongside Vascular Surgeons. This hands-on experience uniquely positions us to comprehend and prioritise information crucial for Surgeons.

At VUA, we are committed to delivering top-tier vascular imaging services, characterised by precision, efficiency, and a patient-centric approach. Our dedication to excellence is not just a promise but a guarantee. We have honed our skills over years, cross-referencing our scans with angiograms and procedures to ensure consistently accurate and reliable results. At VUA, we prioritise your comfort, assuring all patients who request a female Sonographer will be allocated one.

Recognizing the diversity in Sonographer training, we emphasize the significance of a qualified specialist Vascular Sonographer with unique skills and extensive training. Our commitment to transparency is evident as we proudly display accreditation numbers, allowing you to verify the highest quality scan from a registered and specialty-trained Sonographer.

We are open about the training, experience, and qualifications of our Sonographers, ensuring this information is readily accessible to all patients. Our pledge extends to providing an exceptional bedside manner and meticulous attention to detail. In the rare event of any concerns, we encourage you to report them to us. Despite the absence of a formal regulatory body for Sonographers, we take your concerns seriously, pledging to investigate and address any issues promptly, ensuring your experience with our service is nothing short of exceptional.

Our support extends to providing Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) and Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy (UGS) services to treating Doctors and Surgeons. Tailoring our support to your procedural lists, we offer Sonographer assistance during in-room and in-hospital procedures, backed by registered nurses trained in RFA and UGS procedures.

In the current healthcare landscape, accessing private Vascular Surgeons can be challenging for many patients. Public health out-patient clinics, while valuable, face constraints. At VUA, we recognise the importance of routine screening surveillance for specific conditions, including carotid stenosis progression, aneurysm size, DVT progression, routine graft surveillance, and EVAR graft surveillance. Our commitment to quality is evident in our reports, overseen by our associated Vascular Surgeon. We provide a management recommendation at the end of each report which indicates indicating when the next surveillance scan should be organised, assuming the patient's circumstances and clinical indications remain unchanged, and whether referral to a Vascular Surgeon is recommended. At VUA, we bridge the gap, ensuring consistent care and monitoring for all our patients.

Female Sonographer Guarantee

-

+

Certain vascular ultrasound scans necessitate the removal of trousers and/or other clothing items as direct skin contact is essential for accurate imaging.

We understand the potential discomfort or conflicts with personal beliefs and values that may arise when clothing removal is involved in a scan.

While gowns are offered, it's important to note that, for many vascular ultrasound studies, the Sonographer will need to scan up to the groin crease.

Rest assured, with our commitment to your patients' comfort and peace of mind, we guarantee that an ASAR accredited and highly experienced female Vascular Sonographer will perform the scan. This ensures a professional and empathetic approach, prioritizing the dignity and well-being of every patient throughout the procedure.
